Dedication

The Next Theatre would like to dedicate this production of "Burning Chrome" to the memory of Japanese film great, Toshiro Mifune, whose performances and longtime association with director, Akira Kurosawa, have directly inspired the direction of several Next productions, including Eric Simonson's staging of "Coriolanus", and Kate Buckley's production of "Macbeth". Mr. Mifune passed away on Christmas Eve at age 77.

"Mifune was certainly one of the great Macbeths [in Kurosawa's Throne of Blood]. In fact, his death scene in that film remains one of the indelible film images of the century. And, of course, he set the standard for every film tough guy to come as the lumbering samurai in Yojimbo [Later remade with Clint Eastwood as A Fistful of Dollars, and with Bruce Willis as Last Man Standing]."
